Hi Jeff, and thanks for the response. I have a Speeder 757 T/M-25 R-Flex .350 tip Made in Japan pull-out that I’m thinking of installing into a .370 tip 17 degree Adams Super Hybrid. The current weight is 71.6 grams. I can’t find the bend point and torque values anywhere. Any ideas? My swing speed is 80-90 mph. Am I asking for trouble with that shaft in the hybrid head? I’ve got the Fuji Hybrid MAX on order, 65g 4.0 torque just in case it does not work out. Thanks!

I really don’t like the idea of a .350″ in a .370″ head. The shaft will play softer than you think as the hosel ID is designed for a larger tip shaft. The ball flight will likely be higher than you want. Sorry, I do not have the specs on this TaylorMade shaft.

You can use a .350″ shaft or a .335″ shaft with a bushing ferrule.

Odysseshafty Putter Re

I need to pull a shaft from an Odyssey 2-Ball long putter with white hot face. Is there anything I need to know or be aware of or is it a pretty standard pull and reshaft?

Haig Ultra Irons Reshaft

I recently acquired a set of Haig Ultra 385 Contour Sole irons (matched serial numbers) with Fluid Feel stamped on them, 2-PW. They currently have the aluminum shafts, R flex. What specs for a modern shaft could I use in them? Seems like s300’s would be REALLY heavy - maybe an SL? They’re in such good condition, I’m thinking about putting them in the bag. Thanks!

Josh,

The lighter shafts are a good idea as these heads will be heavier than today’s heads. Be aware that the hosel size is .320″ and they will have to be drilled to .355″ taper. Do not drill down more than 1 1/4″ as the hosel walls get thin at that point.

TaylorMade R9 SuperTri Reshaft

I am wanting to replace the stock shaft in my TaylorMade R9 SuperTri driver with a Grafalloy ProLaunch Platinum shaft and was wondering if there were any special tipping options or if i can just put the shaft in the sleeve and cut the butt to length?

Ping Zing Iron Reshaft

My Ping Zing 6 and 7 irons with Aldila 201 shafts have broken I want to reshaft them with the rarely used 3 and 4 iron shafts. How much do I have to cut the tips down and is this a good idea?

The Pings are taper tip. You will need to use taper shafts specifically for the 3 and 4 iron. They will be all butt cut.

Callaway Driver Reshaft

I have a Callaway FT-9 driver. I was just wondering if I put the Graffaloy Pro Axis red in that driver it would be okay? I have a very high ball flight and had that in my Callaway Diablo driver and just want to switch it over.

Ping Shaft Replacement

I want to replace the Ping JZ - Cushin shaft in my I3 clubs with a similar graphite shaft. What shafts will fit properly and have the same flight characteristics?

They are taper tip. The best current choice is probably the True Temper Dynamic Gold - with Sensicore if you can find it.

Callaway Driver Reshaft

Hi there! I’m about to reshaft a Callaway FT-iQ driver. When I look at Golfworks OEM shaft replacement guide it says .350″ tip but when I try that shaft it doesn’t work. I’ll try a .335″ size and it seems fine. I have the right ferrule as well. What size is right?

If the .335 shaft fits then use it. Always pick the shaft that fits best.

Adams Driver Reshaft

The stock shaft in my Adams Insight XTD A3 driver cracked just above the hosel. The stock shaft was an Aldila DVS 55-S (not a retail weight). I liked the swing weight of the club with the stock shaft but I can’t find the specs on this driver to know what it was. Also, I am a novice at clubmaking, is there an easy way to estimate swing weight without a scale? There was also a copper colored metal disk that was in the bottom of the hosel that seemed to be blocking the hole that opens into the clubhead; do I need to save this little metal disk to prevent epoxy from going into the clubhead while installing a new shaft? Thanks.

If you know the weight of the head, the length, weight and balance point of the shaft and the weight of the grip, you can calculate the swingweight. The brass stop in the bottom of the hosel is to serve as a shaft stop as well as to prevent epoxy from going into the head during assembly. I am sure if you call Adams, they will have the club specs for you.
