Swingweight

I read a swingweight Q and A, now I am a bit upset. I just spent probably too much getting new grips. My irons were all D3 weight, chipping around the house today and everything feels heavy. Grips went from 42 grams to 50 grams. What happened to my swingweight?
John, Spring Hill, Tennessee, USA

John,

Each 5 grams heavier in the grip will reduce swingweight by @1 point. Thus the swingweight of your clubs actually decreased by about a point and a half. The reason the clubs may feel heavier is that the total weight of your clubs went up 8 grams due to the heavier weight of the new grips.

Regards,

Jeff
